Rearcross U-12's welcomed Murroe AFC to Reacross FC Grounds for a floodlit friendly on Sataurday evening and played out an entertaining encounter before finishing on the wrong end of a two nil scoreline. The opening exchanges were evenly shared with Patrick Dawson and Colm Lenihan coming closest for the hosts while Cillian O'Shea was a threat for Murroe. The away side raced ahead a minute before the half time whistle when Jamie Cummins finished to the corner of the net from outside the six yard box. Rearcross turned in a much improved performance in the second period and were unlucky not to draw level following a fine solo run from Stephen Rochford, however the ball was eventually cleared to safety. Cathal Kennedy came to the rescue for the Rea boys with a fine save minutes later, however Murroe kept pressing and doubled their advantage midway through the half when Jay Ryan converted with aplomb from the spot. Rearcross didn't give up but were unable to open their account in the remaining minutes to leave the visitors two nil winners on the night.
